Bees swarm on a house, 20 ft in the Air!

The bees are still swarming in the Tampa area. They can create honey comb and get settled in rapidly. Swarming bees are looking for a new home for their nest, so the swarm is just the start of a new colony. These bees may have swarmed for 24-48 hours and have already made a good amount of honey comb.

As you can see there are 9 shelves honey comb(the rows of honey comb) on this soffit and the bees would have most likely have gone inside of the soffit and filled the void there with honey comb. If you come in contact with these stinging insects, call the experts.Contact the stinging insect specialists, entomologists, beekeepers, licensed and insured. Bees in a Tree, Jacksonville, FL

Here is an african Bee Colony in Jacksonville, Florida. They have made their home in an old knot hole inside of a tree. We remove many nests like this, but the difference in our removals is they are done the correct way. We have re-done previously killed nests that have been re-habilitated by new bees because they were just killed and sealed with an expandable foam technique. This is not effective because rodents can get through that seal and then new bees move in. AllFloridaBeeRemoval's techniques are tested and proved to work the first time they are applied. It is important to remove the bees in your trees, expecially before you get an old tree cut down because when the tree falls they will be aggressive and will attack everything around them. Also due to the increased sightings of African Bees this is becoming more of a danger and you can be held accountable for this. If you come in contact with these stinging insects, call the experts.Contact the stinging insect specialists, entomologists, beekeepers, licensed and insured. Bees Swarm on A Truck

We have seen many crazy bee swarms throughout the years. This swarm was in Palm Harbor, on the wheel well of an F250 truck above its tire. This obviously wouldn't "bee" a good place to build an external nest, but it is still dangerous because if they get irritated the colony can attack anything nearby. Instead of just driving off in the truck with a probability of hurting others, they called us to remove it properly with no harm being done to anybody. Due to the increasing number of african storms this is very dangerous, these bees were aggressive and ready to fight. Please call us if you come into contact with any bees.

Bees swarm in New Port Richey!

Have you heard about the recent bee stories in Florida? We have been getting calls about many of these bee swarms, yesterday we saw these bees swarming in a golfing community in New Port Richey. This was a massive swarm which took over a nearby tree. They were even weighing down one of the branches. This swarm didnt stay on this tree but it most likely went to another tree nearby or a house nearby, we will find out later this week if we get another call. What is important about this is the larger the swarm is the larger the home hive is which is scary considering that there is a giant hive nearby where this was located. If you are noticing many bee swarms or african bee swarms, call the experts.Contact the stinging insect specialists, entomologists, beekeepers, licensed and insured. Odessa Live Removal

A year old nest was found inside of a bird box on a tree yesterday. The nest was removed and relocated, this was done faster than most live removals because with the bird box it is easier to contain and physically move the whole nest. This live removal was tricky though, due to the fact that it had to be done carefully so the back of the box wouldn't rip off. If not done correctly we would have an angry mess on our hands.

Swarm Season is Among us!

If you havent heard or seen lately it is swarm season and we have been having some interesting bee removal jobs lately. Today we did a job that was on a second story soffit and was a swarm of about 500 bees

The bees swarm around and had already begun to develop a new colony at this spot. It was a very large swarm so the colony it came from was probably very large. The nearby colony was probably in this neighborhood in a foreclosed home or somewhere where it would be overlooked and able to grow massive.

Tampa Killer Bee Attack

100,000 Killer Bees Attack, Lion Attack, and Other Animal Attacks This Week | International | World | Epoch Times: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/world/100-000-killer-bees-attack-lion-attack-and-other-animal-attacks-this-week-358497.html#.UTkIbuNX-MI.twitter

There was a stinging surprise near the entrance to Picnic Island Park in Port Tampa. Two Tampa city Parks and Recreation workers uncovered thousands of bees as they used a front-end loader to remove an old bench and a tire. "There was so many, that I don't know what to do. I freak out. The first time in two years I got afraid" said David Zeledon, one of those attacked.
Zeledon says, he and his partner Rodney Pugh ran for cover as the bees attacked. "I just run, and I screamed his name, Ronnie Ronnie run! and I run. But so many I fall twice" said Zeledon.
The men were loading debris into a pick-up truck. Hours after the attack, we found dead and slow-moving bees still crawling around. David ran into the woods, hoping the brush would knock off some of the stinging insects. Both headed for a nearby shed to use a hose to wash them off. "The whole thing was covered here. With bees? yes. And he was almost in the chest and the head. So I hosed it down" said Zeledon. Each man picked bees and stingers off the other.
Bee removal company "Insect I-Q" sent an expert to remove the swarm. "The colony was low to the ground in the tire, but also this is a fuel force, the colony is 25-30 feet the other direction. They have a horrible attitude. Highly defensive" said Jason Deeringer of Insect I-Q.
He said the bees are likely "africanized" bees. When provoked, he says they fight back hard. "It's just in their genetics. They're just that mean. This was disturbed. It was picked up and agitated prior to us getting here."
David plans to spend his day off, relaxing. But he won't forget his encounter with an angry swarm.

TAMPA - Two Tampa park employees were swarmed by as many as 100,000 Africanized honeybees, after they accidentally disturbed a hive. David Zeledon and Rodney Pugh were both removing a pile of trash near the entrance road of Picnic Island Park, when they overturned an old truck tire.

That's when they spilled the bees.

"It was like a thousand little knives poking me in my body," said Pugh, 41, who took off running from a front-end loader that became surrounded by the bees.

"It was like bees all in the cab," Pugh said. "So I'm trying to swat, and they say never to swat bees," he said. Pugh and his partner both tried to escape, but they ended up with nearly 100 stings each.

"My ears were just throbbing with pain," Pugh said. Both men were hospitalized and treated with antibiotics and swelling reducers in case they had an adverse reaction to the stings.

"It's the worst feeling, because you just had so many and they wouldn't stop," Pugh said.

Africanized bees, or killer bees, are similar to typical honeybees, except they are all extremely aggressive and will attack relentlessly if bothered.

Jonathan Simkins of Insect I.Q. was called out to exterminate the hive. He suspects the bees originally came from Africa or South America aboard a port ship. Picnic Island Park is next to Port Tampa.

Simkins said it won't be the last encounter with this dangerous form of bee.

"The problem that we're having is the wild bees," Simkins said. "This pile of rubbish wasn't moved for three years. So this colony's been breeding and sending out colonies," he said, an ominous prediction that there are many more of the killer bees in the Tampa Bay area.

"The European bee will swarm once or twice a year. The African bee will swarm up to 17 times," Simkins said.

One danger with these bees is that they are virtually identical to regular honeybees, which are not as aggressive. If a killer bee hive is disturbed with the thought that it's a regular hive, whoever is in the line of fire will get stung, possibly dozens of times.

"They just keep coming at you," said Simkins, who's helped eradicate numerous killer bee hives.

Both park employees are expected to recover from the attack.

Block wall Removal

Having bees in a wall can be a lot more than what meets the eye. The whole phrase dont judge a book by its cover, the activity going into the next can seem small but it can be packing heat on the inside.  This nest was roughly 8inches x 5feet which is huge, and messy to remove if not done by an experienced professional. In the Tampa Bay area honey bee and African honey bees in a block wall are very common because bees like close voids in walls. They have plenty of room to build and have a striving, dangerous colony. Potential threats this colony makes is it can harm you, your pets, children, or neighbors. Also this nest can swarm and go to your neighbors! That is not the good kind of caring!
