Orlando Yellow Jacket Removal

Sometimes we are called to large Yellow Jacket infestations, and these are always a lot of hard, hot and challenging work.

Check out this nest, which I took pics of after I removed it from under an ornamental hedge:
Orlando YellowJacket nest
It measured over 4 feet long X 2 feet deep and left quite a crater underneath the hedge. The client was soooo happy that I removed the nest properly and quickly on a 99 degree sunny day!

If you have ground bees, ground wasps or yellowjackets, call us, The Stinging Insect Experts for quick and competent removals of your stingers! 1-800-343-5317 or 321-206-5100

Davenport Yellow Jacket Removal: Huge Yellow Jacket nest in Fish camp

Davenport Fl: Fish Camp overrun by Gigantic Yellow Jacket Nest!

Yellow jacket wasps are opportunistic: They will gladly move into structures if humans are'nt using them effectively! This nest was found in an old Florida Fish camp in Davenport that had been abandoned for a short period
Davenport Yellow Jacket nest in Fish Camp

This species of yellow jacket is Vespula squamosa, the Southern Yellow Jacket, and it can contain hundreds of Queens, which allows the nest to grow into millions of individuals, and several feet in size!

Daytona Beach Yellow Jacket Nest Removal with Queen and Eggs!

Got lucky on this photo. I had just removed a Southern Yellow Jacket (Vespula squamosa), from an apartment hedge, and was taking some pics. The Queen was positioned on the outside of the nest material, and just above her are 2 eggs freshly laid in cells!  I shot this with my Iphone camera, using available light.

Rarely can I see Yellowjacket eggs laid in the cells. And to get this with my Iphone, well, just wow!!

Anyway, this nest was threatening Apartment residents, so we were called to remove it properly, meaning we minimize the flight activity of these very defensive wasps, during and after our treatment and removals.

Remember, all it takes is ONE sting to cause a fatality. Bee Safe, contact ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com at 800-343-5317.

Orlando Yellow Jacket Nest: Don't Try This!

When it comes to Bees and Yellow Jackets, sometimes I feel like the good folks at Mythbusters when Adam Savage says "Don't Try This!"

This photo shows a client's attempt at smothering a yellowjacket nest in his backyard. He attempted to put a pot over the opening and then shoveled sand over it to smother it. His girlfriend said he came running in the house covered with Yellow Jackets and all wide eyed and in shock. He's lucky to be alive. We see many severe injuries and even deaths from these very defensive wasps.

Bee Safe, contact us, the Stinging Insect Experts at ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com 800-343-5317 for proper Yellow Jacket removal. Remember, our services are most likely cheaper than any Emergency Room Visit!

Jacksonville Yellow Jackets nearly cost this man his life:

Jacksonville: John Whittet was investigating a snake sighting in his backyard, when he was startled by hundreds of YellowJacket wasps. Within seconds they were covering his arm and attacking his face.
John's motorized wheelchair became stuck in sand as he tried to exit the area. He said to himself, " Oh Lord, this is going to be it".
ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com removed John's yellow jacket nest today, and in the photo above, you can see John looking at the nest that nearly cost him his life.

Alachua Yellow Jacket Nest Removal

We received a call from a client in Alachua, one of the most beautiful towns in Florida! But alas, her beauty was being interupted by nasty, defensive YellowJacket wasps, who had decided to build an underground nest right in her front yard. She and her son had been stung and she needed the nest removed properly!

I was able to excavate the nest after treatment, and show you how cool these yellow jacket nests are. They are protected by an envelope of 'paper' that the wasps make from tree bark and saliva. The envelope protects the nest from water and other liquids, so if you try to pour hot water or gas down the hole, it usually doesnt work!

Bee safe, call the entomologists at http://ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com for yellow jacket removals done Right! 800-343-5317

Tavares Yellow Jacket Removal

This is a Vespula maculifrons nest, aka the Eastern Yellowjacket. We don't see too many of these species of Yellowjackets in Central Florida, instead we see their cousin, Vespula squamosa, the Southern Yellowjacket, which can attain huge nest sizes of over One million individuals!

The Eastern Yellowjacket nests stay relatively small, maybe getting to the size of a large watermelon at their largest. They only have one queen per nest, which limits the reproductive output, hence the nest size as well.

This one was maybe the size of a large softball, but still had plenty of firepower, as I suffered a few stings myself!

Orange Park Yellow Jacket Extermination and Removal

Orange Park Yellow Jacket Extermination and Removal

Orange Park Yellow Jacket Nest
Clients tried to do a self treatment of this very large Yellow Jacket nest, located in pampas grass adjacent to their neighborhood street. They were unsuccessful in eradication this YellowJacket colony, but were most successful in irritating the wasps and endangering the neighborhood, trash service, mail carriers and anyone else who may have come near the nest.

Nest Location in Pampas Grass
One sting can prove fatal in the 2-3% of the population that is allergic. We have heard hundreds of stories of fatal or near fatal experiences with wasp and honey bee stings, so please indulge us just a bit when we stress how sting risk should be consideration number one when dealing with social stinging insects!

Bee safe, call on us to reduce your stings, your risk and your liability. Call us at 800.343.5317 or email here for an appointment.

Near Fatal Leesburg Yellow Jacket nest

Leesburg Yellow Jacket nest
This Leesburg Yellowjacket nest is a startling example of the real dangers that stinging insects represent.
Look at this photo. You'd agree that this nest is relatively small, as you can see my boot there on the left for size reference. Yet, this small Yellow Jacket colony nearly killed a Leesburg home owner, who was simply raising a flag in her backyard.

Nest was located in pampas grass
She was stung about 15 times, suffered an allergic reaction, and if not for her neighbor hearing her cries for help, would have died within minutes. Her blood pressure had fallen below 50 mm systolic. Paramedics arrived within 3 minutes and rushed her to the emergency room, where she was confined to hospital stay for about a week.
Her daughter called us to treat and remove the yellow jacket nest, and we checked her yard for any other nests.
Please, if you find a yellow jacket nest, call the entomologists at ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com , 800-343-5317 , for expert and proper yellow jacket and bee nest removal.

Gainesville Yellow Jackets Tri-Fecta!

3 GainesvilleYellow Jacket Nests !
We were called out to a Gainesville apartment complex to treat and remove one Yellow Jacket nest that was located about a foot away from a walkway leading to an apartment entry. Upon arrival, I always take time to do a proper inspection, and boy am I glad I did!

3 Yellow Jacket nests located in these hedges
I found not one, but THREE Yellowjacket nests within a 10 foot radius, and all were quite active. I always notify residents that are nearby, and it turns out that one of the residents is severely allergic to bee and wasp stings. So allergic that he has 7 epi-pens in his car and home, and once nearly died from ONE sting while on duty. (He's a Law Enforcement Officer).

Hole left after removing Yellow Jacket nest
This just highlights the potential dangers, liability and risk that we deal with on a daily basis, and our client was prudent in hiring us, as our first priority is the safety of people and pets. Our treatment and removal protocol is designed to minimize the numbers of defensive stinging insects flying during AND after the yellowjacket nest removal. Your typical pest control technician has no clue how to protect you and your residents, pets or loved ones.

Bee safe, call on us to reduce your stings, your risk and your liability. Call us at 800.343.5317 or email here for an appointment.

Ocala horse farm Yellow Jacket removal

Ocala Yellow Jacket Nest
We received a 911 call today from an Ocala horse farm.. Ground bees were swarming and attacking guests and pets attempting to get through the main gate.

Well, we arrived near dusk, and found a sizable colony of Southern YellowJackets, and boy, were they mad! Somebody had sprayed them with wasp spray, which killed some of them, but really made the rest of them ballistic!

This photo shows several of the plates, and you can plainly see the pupal cases, which are the white swatches. I think the symmetry of the queen's laying pattern is really beautiful, don't you?

So, contact us, for expert Ocala Yellow Jacket Removal, even these nests that measure over three feet wide. Call 352-870-0346 or 1-800-343-5317 or visitALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com

Tallahassee Yellow Jacket Removal

This has bad news written all over it.. A small Southern Yellow Jacket nest opening in a front yard of a Tallahassee home, just waiting for a child to run near it, or maybe retrieve an errant ball that has landed nearby. It may only look like a small hole, but hidden in the ground are maybe 5-10,000 YellowJacket wasps, ready to deliver hundreds and maybe thousands of stings.
Don't take a chance with self-treating these nests. We often perform rescues, where the client has only succeeded in irritiating these very defensive wasps, and are held hostage in their own home, waiting for us to arrive and perform an emergency YellowJacket removal in Tallahassee.
And this species of Yellow Jacket, Vespula squamosa can attain enormous size, in mere weeks during the late summer and fall. Each nest can hold dozens of queens, producing 10's of thousands of eggs per day, which equals 10's of thousands of adults emerging each day!
Bee safe. Call the entomologists at 850-391-0272, 1-800-343-5317 or email us at info@ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com , and we'll remove your sting worries for good, the first time!

Rockledge Brevard County Fla. Yellow Jacket Nest Removal

Rockledge Yellow Jacket Nest Removal Brevard County Yellowjacket removal

Brevard ground wasp nest opening
This photo shows the opening of a large Yellow Jacket nest that we removed yesterday, Aug 30, 2010 in Rockledge, FL. You can see the paper nest really well, and this represents just part of the openings that were visible above ground. The nest below ground measured about 3 foot by 4 foot, and was about 18" deep! The client had tried to treat it with wasp and hornet spray, but after about 10 cans, his wife finally called us,  the entomologists at ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com. for fast removal of these very large wasp nests.

This species is the Southern Yellow Jacket, Vespula squamosa. See our Yellowjacket pages for more info. These wasp nests can get HUGE, with numbers over one MILLION individuals. Here's a link to a video of us treating a large Yellow Jacket wasp nest..notice how many of these wasps are flying around! When you get a nest this size, treatments that your redneck brother-in-law recommends (like gasoline, kerosene, putting a bowl over the openings) simply do not work. (Read here why gasoline and kerosene should NEVER be used, anyway!). We have arrived at many, many jobs where clients have tried all these treatments and more, and STILL have the Yellowjackets, but now they've really made them MAD!!!

Protect yourself, your neighbors and your assets. Call us at 321-206-5100, 800-343-5317 or Send us an email, for professional Rockledge & Cocoa Beach Yellow Jacket removal from the Stinging Insect Experts at ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com

Williston, Fla.: Yellow Jacket removal; Reproductive Queen and worker Photo

Here's a closeup of a Southern Yellow Jacket queen and one of her daughter workers. The scientific name for the southern yellow jacket is Vespula squamosa, and it is the dominant species here in peninsular Florida. One of the cool behaviours of  V. squamosa is its ability to foster many queens in the same nest, which of course leads to extremely large nest sizes with populations exceeding One Million (!) individuals.
These girls came from a colony located in a ground nest on a cattle farm in Williston, Fla. Call us for expert yellow jacket removal

Tampa Yellowjacket nest removal

Isn't this a cool photo of a Tampa yellow jacket nest? We get lots of calls for yellow jacket or ground bee removals in late summer, as the colonies have plenty of insect prey to support quick growth of the nests. This nest had about 10,000 !!! yellowjackets and would have grown tremendously even by labor day. Self treating a nest this size could result in many stings, so we don't recommend using things like wasp spray, gasoline or other such treatments. Call us at (855) 930.BEES or visit ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com for guaranteed, proper, professional treatment by your stinging insect specialists!
