Gainesville Bee Control: 40 feet up in a Tree!

Sometimes we are called to scenes that are almost out of a movie, where folks get stung so badly by bees, that it's by stroke of luck that they survive!
Gainesville Bees in Tree 40 Ft. high

The photo above illustrates one such event last summer in Gainesville, Florida. Tree surgeons were cutting down trees in a residential backyard and rope climbing in the trees when a honey bee colony located in the trunk of one tree was disturbed by the activity nearby. A climber was attacked by the honey bees, so badly that he couldn't yell down to his support crew, for all the attacking bees getting in his mouth, nose and ears.

Folks, It's important to respect honey bee colonies, whether they are African or European Honey Bees. Don't risk your life for a bee removal bill that's about the price of an emergency room visit, As if you self-remove, your life may be in jeapordy. Is it really worth the risk?

Call us at 1-800-343-5317 for expert bee removal services.

Gainesville Bees in a wall - a "Chert" Wall !

Here's a cool one -- Gainesville has about 150 historic homes that were built with the locally mined limestone, called "Chert", which makes for a very distinct architectural style. It also can make for a very bee-friendly wall as there are many small openings that bees can gain entrance to the wall void that exists behind the rock.

Bees in Chert limestone wall

We were called to this bee infestation after the owner was stung.. after he had tried to use gasoline and wasp spray  to kill the bee colony--- a method that has bad news all over it.

Please call us if you encounter such a bee colony, we were able to treat this colony in a manner that will allow the client to open the wall and remove the treated colony in just a few days...and save him some money in the process. And, ,more importantly, remove the sting risk to him and his neighbors. That's peace of mind!

Clermont External Honey Bee Nest

This time of year, we get loads of calls for these kind of bee nests: External comb built right in or under tree branches:

Here's what you may not realize. The probability is High that these are Africanized Honey Bees (AHB), aka "Killer Bees", and not the desired European Honey Bees that we keep in our white boxes. However, it's possible to do a live relocation to our quarantine apiary, but we have to consider the sting risk before attempting such removals.

Please, do not attempt to perform removals on these type nests as these bees can turn very mean, once one tries to attempt removal or spraying.

Gainesville Yellow Jackets Tri-Fecta!

3 GainesvilleYellow Jacket Nests !
We were called out to a Gainesville apartment complex to treat and remove one Yellow Jacket nest that was located about a foot away from a walkway leading to an apartment entry. Upon arrival, I always take time to do a proper inspection, and boy am I glad I did!

3 Yellow Jacket nests located in these hedges
I found not one, but THREE Yellowjacket nests within a 10 foot radius, and all were quite active. I always notify residents that are nearby, and it turns out that one of the residents is severely allergic to bee and wasp stings. So allergic that he has 7 epi-pens in his car and home, and once nearly died from ONE sting while on duty. (He's a Law Enforcement Officer).

This just highlights the potential dangers, liability and risk that we deal with on a daily basis, and our client was prudent in hiring us, as our first priority is the safety of people and pets. Our treatment and removal protocol is designed to minimize the numbers of defensive stinging insects flying during AND after the yellowjacket nest removal. Your typical pest control technician has no clue how to protect you and your residents, pets or loved ones.

Bee safe, call on us to reduce your stings, your risk and your liability. Call us at 800.343.5317 or email here for an appointment.
