Marion County Bumble Bee removal

This photo shows me holding the pupal cases from a Bumble Bee nest that was located in a Citra, FL., cabbage palm tree.

Bumble bee nests are really cool looking, loosely constructed with lots of the egg looking shapes, which are actually developing pupae, the metamorphosis stage between larvae grub and adult with wings.

This nest of at least 150 adults was particularly defensive, stinging the homeowner, her dogs and even peacocks! The bumble bees chased her over 300 feet into her house. She tried to treat them at night, and they even followed her and stung her again!

Please, don't attempt a removal of bees, as they can be deadly, even swarms have attacked us since Killer Bees are now here. We've had fatalities occur in Florida because of improper stinging insect removal techniques.
